As I Remember It

As I Remember It is an ongoing series of color film photographs taken while traveling and later altered by hand with cross-stitch. While the photograph holds a moment still, memory continues to change.

Sections of each image are reconstructed through thread, reducing photographic detail into blocks of color that resemble pixels. Some remain recognizable while others become fragmented or incomplete, reflecting the way memories shift, blur, and lose detail over time.

The photographs become both records of places I have been and interpretations of how those places remain in my memory.
