Camila Capmany is a multidisciplinary artist and photographer originally from Costa Rica, currently based in New York City and pursuing an MFA in the Photo, Video & Related Media program at the School of Visual Arts. Her practice centers on analog photography and mixed media, particularly embroidery intervention, driven by a curiosity for experimentation, handmade processes, and the quiet possibilities that stitch and film can open in an image.
Camila’s work is shaped by memory, place, and an interest in intimate, narrative moments that feel slightly uncanny. She favors tactile, slow-making methods that reconnect photography to craft, texture, and personal storytelling.
Open to collaborations, commissions, and conversations, Camila is available for projects that explore the intersection of photography and material intervention.
